Shawn Williamson had two recent wins in defending a defamation lawsuit in Travis County. He defeated a company’s request for temporary injunction seeking to have our client remove social media content. In the same case he filed a motion to dismiss the case based on the Texas Citizens Participation Act. The TCPA is Texas’s Anti-SLAPP statute (strategic lawsuits against public participation). Mr. Williamson obtained a judgment dismissing the case in its entirety and an award of $150,000.00 in sanctions plus attorney’s fees.

- 9/9: Judicial District of Harris County, Texas: successfully defeated a request for temporary restraining order requested by tenant in a construction delay case representing the landlord.
- 9/16: Justice Court of Galveston County: successfully represented landlord in eviction against tenant refusing to allow access to property.
